Text: Matthew 11:2-15

As John is in prison, he sends his disciples to Jesus to ask Him if He is the One who is to come or should they expect someone else.  Jesus responds with, “the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up.” Now, because John sends this question along, we might think that John is experiencing doubt while in prison.  Is this true, is John the Baptist doubting John, before we ever hear about Doubting Thomas?  Or might there be some other reason for asking this question?
